Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Appletree Nursery School.

Here at Appletree Nursery School, we take pride in what we do, and this is reflected in our mission statement:

Planting the seed; growing the future

Nestled just outside the Historic City Centre of Lancaster on the quiet Milking Stile Lane, we are situated in the Castle and Marsh ward, but serve the children of Lancaster. We are the only maintained school in Lancaster  and this enables us to make use of our council’s specialist support and, as we were originally a Children’s Centre and Nursery, we have a vast amount of space for our children to thrive. We have a wealth of local facilities around us that the children can access as part of their learning experience, including Willow Lane School, the local parks, shops, castle, quayside and town.

We have children aged 2, 3 and 4 years old on roll and our staff are experienced practitioners that have a wealth of knowledge in Early Years and Child Development.

Children at Appletree have access to high quality education through the EYFS framework. Our provision is designed with children at the heart. We value every child as an individual and use this to motivate, nurture and develop them to be the best they can be and ready for the next stages on their journey after us.

Appletree Nursery School provides a happy, secure and stimulating indoor and outdoor environment where everybody’s ideas, experiences and individuality are valued. Together we will share the excitement of learning through exploring, communicating and meeting new challenges that are relevant and have interest to us.

We have a close relationship with all our parents. Staff are available to talk to parents on a daily basis. We have termly progress meetings and communicate via face to face, email or phone. We know how precious your children are and we do our very best to work with families  to collectively help them flourish.

We are very proud of our Nursery and your child will be happy here!
