Provided that a nursery or childminder is approved, you could get help with childcare costs, Appletree Nursery School is ‘approved childcare’. The Government provides free childcare for children between the ages of 2-4 depending on your circumstances. There are various ways in which you can get help with paying for or supporting your child to access a nursery place;
15 Hours Free Childcare – Age 2
If you are receiving some sort of support your child could be eligible for 15 hours of free childcare for 38 weeks of the year from the term after your child turns 2. Please check the link below to see if you meet the eligibility criteria, if you do meet the criteria you will need to apply for the 15 hours free childcare and provide proof that you have done so before your child’s start date.
15 Hours Free Childcare – Age 3 & 4
Every family in the UK with a child aged 3 and 4 will receive 15 hours free childcare for 38 weeks of the year. You do not need to ‘apply’ for this and can start using this the term after your child has their 3rd birthday.
30 Hours Free Childcare – Age 3 & 4
Working families in England can claim 30 hours of free childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year, from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday. Please check the link below to see if you meet the eligibility criteria, if you do meet the criteria you will need to apply for the 30 hours free childcare and provide proof that you have done so before your child’s start date.
Tax Free Childcare – Age 0-11
For working families in the UK that aren’t in the receipt of Tax Credits, Universal Credits or childcare vouchers. For every £8 you pay into an online account the government will add an extra £2, up to the value of £2000.
Universal Credits for Childcare – Age 0-16
If you are a working family in receipt of Universal Credits, you may be eligible to claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs. Please ask at the school office if you need proof that your child is attending Appletree Nursery School as well as proof of childcare costs.
